Considering re-homing a dog
We have a 9.5 YO Border Collie X and a 2 YO Lab X. We were living in a house we were going to purchase when we got the 2 YO but circumstances forced not to buy the house and return to our condo. We have recently received a letter from our condo board telling us that we are in violation of the pet policy (it's 1 dog and a cat or 2 cats). We take issue with this because when my husband was on the Board the policy was never enforced and we have seen nother resident with 2 dogs. We are not getting rid of our older one- he's been through everything with us-and he's older. Our issue is the 2 YO. She goes to daycare 2-3 times a week, we have a dog park in town but we don't have a yard for her to run in. She's a very sweet pup and loves everyone but kids under 10 (we don't have kids so she never got used to that loud, touchy feely stage)and she doesn't like other dogs while she is on leash. It makes life at the condo difficult becasue there are a lot of dsog owners and most of the dogs get along. (No- absolutely not a reason to get rid of her) but this does have it's challenges. Are we denying her a better life if we keep her? We're not naive enough to think that someone will love her as much as we do but are we doing wrong by her by keeping her? I don't mind going before the Board and begging to keep her - but this Board picks and chooses the rules it wants to enforce - so if we do keep her there is a possibility that this may come up again and again. I have a month to try and find a home for her and we refuse to foster home her. We don't want her bouncing around or being stuck in a crate. I need all opinions and we've never had to do this before so please go easy on me. In Dog adoption Asked by lhoff0324 1 Answer 299 Views 1 year ago Resolved |

Difficult at this time to rehome a dog. Since it's a Border Collie I would try for a farm or a place with lots of room. Or...I would move. Source(s): Bernesebaby. My source is lots of experience with volunteer pet organizations Answered by Bernesebaby 1 year ago
