Female dog aggressive toward new to family male dog
We have had 2 of our three dogs (female is a year older than the male) for the last 5/6 years. In Dec. both dogs got out of the yard. Got the female back right away, the male hadn't been seen or heard from since. My son had decided he was ready for a new dog. Right after we commited to a particular dog, we got a phone call that our long lost male had been found. Now mind you, our female had been an only dog for 7 months. Our male came home and they were very happy to see each other. A few days later, the new dog came in and she won't stop sniffing him, I mean to the point of being obnoxious. And although you can tell that the new male who is smaller and subserviant is annoyed, he's never let her know it. So far in the almost week we've had him, the female has attacked him twice. She has only been aggressive toward one other dog, he was a male, but he was a pup that wouldn't leave her alone. This one is not a pup and tries to stay away from her. The first time was random, my son kicked a ball for our original male dog and our female turned around and attacked the new boy for no reason. The second time was last night. We came home and the dogs were excited and before I could even get the door open I heard the new one yelping and I knew what was happening. No skin broken either time, but I can't have her doing this. I know this was long just to ask for suggestions, but I tried to give a little background to help with any ideas anyone may have? I'm not about to give up my girl, and my son is not about to give up his new best friend. I must mention, our original male, and has no problem with either dog. Hey hi, was reading about your problem with your pet and no one has helped you so I thought I'd point you in the direction of a book that might help. It looks a good book anyway, I'll give you the address to go to. Answered by Phill05 1 year ago
