Dear TLUVN: There is no such puppy in existance that doesn't chew. It's like human babies that put everything in their mouths. It's all about learning and becoming familiar with the environment. I know it's hard, but never slap the dog, he will just become fearful and cowed. Fearful dogs can become biters. Give him lots of toys to chew and rotate them. Buy or borrow a crate to put him in at night and at naptime. Never for punishment. He will outgrow it in time. Get a training manual or take him for training, Jack Russells are very active and smart. All dogs can get destructive if bored. Get him to the dog park when he's old enough. Good Luck, Debbie P.S. Patience, Patience. He is your kid. Source(s): My source: 72 years with dogs. First one born same day I was. My conditions when I married was: I get any dog I want, whenever I want. Made a dog lover out of a man who was never allowed to have one. Also enlisted a one on one professional trainer who was very good when I adopted a difficult Husky. Well worth the money because I learned so much. No training treats used, only affection.
