How to stop the shedding of my cat?
I have a long haired cat and no matter how often I brush her, she always sheds a lot of her hair. All the places are filled with her hair. So I was thinking if anyone could suggest me ways how to get rid of this excessive shedding of my cat? In Cat care & grooming Asked by Crazycat 4 Answers 423 Views 2 years ago Resolved |

If your cat is shedding hair very often, then it would be best for you to purchase a Furminator shedding brush. This brush is available in all leading pet stores and it would cost you around 20 bucks. This brush is excellent to stop the shedding. Earlier my cat was also shedding a lot of hair, so someone told me about this fumigator comb and within a week or so the shedding stopped. I would suggest you to use this fumigator comb to get rid of the shedding. Answered by Frodette 2 years ago

Try to feed your cat on high nutritive food especially canned ones. The shedding occurs because of the intake of cheap cat food like Purina and Meow Mix. These cat foods does not have required amount of vitamins and proteins and hence causes shedding. You can mix high quality dry kibbles in the canned food to add the nutritive value. Many a times the excessive shedding of the cat occurs because of poor diet. It would be ideal for you to change the existing diet of your cat and switch on to something healthier and nutritive diet. If you are feeding your cat on cheap store food, then switch onto something healthier with meat as its main ingredient and with little or no grain. It would be advisable for you to feed her on canned food daily. Within a week or so you would notice that the hair shedding has stopped. Answered by CALIC007 2 years ago

The reason for the excessive shedding of the cat is that you’re “Brushing” your cat. You should always remember that long haired cats should never be brushed. Rather they need to be combed. By regularly brushing, the top hair coat gets loosened and this in turns leads to shedding. It would be best for you to get a nice comb and comb your cat gently. This would remove all the dead hairs and would leave the top layer coat intact. In this way you can get rid of the excessive shedding. Answered by Marcee 2 years ago
