This is the natural property of any dog that he runs after cats. But it is a problem, when both Dog and Cat live together in one house. Try this, may this work.
First short guide your dog and introduce him to cat. If he tries to chase cat then scold him tightly and say ‘NO, this is wrong’ and ask him to sit. When he obeys you then give him some treat which he like. Repeat this process with a short guide until he doesn’t understand properly and not stop trying to chase cat. Once you attempted this process then switch to the long lead and let him to feel free to chase cat. If he is trying to chase cat then do as what you did with short lead. This is time taking process but when he learns that cats are not the subject to be chased then he stop it himself.

Try to habituate the dog so that dog remove fear or hate from cats and so the cat. You should introduce them with each other in such a way that they will see each other as non-threatening and feel relax in presence of one another’s. For that you have to put some efforts.
