How to train my cat to roll over?
I bought my ginger tomcat 6 months ago and giving him training. He is now learned many things like Sit, Lie Down, Stay, Wait, Heel, Beg and others. He can also do some tricks too but he doesn’t roll over not even for his favorite treats of Friskies. Can you give me some suggestions to teach him the roll over? Cats are cats and they can’t react like a dog. Rolling over is a submissive acting that shows that the pet is showing trust. If you can trust then he will roll over allowing you to rub his tummy or head. Don’t force to do him the rolling because it may make him aggressive and so that they can attack on you even if you are the owner. Answered by Marcee 1 month ago

Hello, you are teaching a cat not a dog. Dogs are very easily doing the things like sitting and rolling. If you compare then teaching or training a cat is more difficult than a dog. You have mentioned that your cat is doing things like sit, Lie Down, Stay, Wait, Heel, Beg and others which is awesome. Use those ways that you have used to teach him to do previous stunts. You can try some tricks like physically roll him over but do it playfully and then give him reward for that. Slowly he will learn that doing the roll can give those rewards and so he itself tries to do that in order to get the reward. I have read that some breed of cats have trust issues and hate to being on their backs. If you kitty is one of them then it can be the reason. Answered by Ellie 1 month ago
