Is it good to adopt a dog from a shelter?
I have a 9 month dog, but I wish to adopt another dog from shelter. Is there any problem in it? I am afraid about the medical health problem and the behavior of dog. If there is any problem then….. can I prevent that problem? And is it necessary to train dog? Any help is appreciated. In Dog adoption Asked by MAX 5 Answers 358 Views 2 years ago Resolved |

Don’t worry about the health problem of dog that you adopt from shelter. They are medically ok and need you, to make their life ok. They need your love and affection. At shelter you see all of them and get all the information about them related with the health and behavior. If you find anything wrong after adopting then you can exchange them or talk about them with the shelter person. Or by your own you can go for spaying or neutering. You need to give some training to them to make them familiar with the house behavior or other good behavior. So that he can understand how to act in house. Answered by Frodette 2 years ago

This is really a great place to get a dog or any pet. They don’t give sick animal and before giving to you they spay them. They also put dog under many test to make sure he is healthy. Before you bring it home, you can also check them and if you find any problem then you can pick another one. So don’t worry about this and don’t leave this idea. Go for it. The dog, you are going to take from shelter will be fully disclosed to you. Administrator fully tells you about any heath issue to you. They are not here to make money else they are in the search of a home to dogs present in the shelter or rescue. Dog will have been spayed when you adopt from a shelter and the cost is included in the cost of adoption. You can have a screening for behavioral problems. Anything which seems like untreated health issues then that one will be dropped from the list of adoption but if anything is which is curable then they will inform you before. So you don’t worry about the health problem. As far as the behavioral issue is concerned then there is a need of some training. Answered by Gizmo 2 years ago

If you are planning to adopt dog from shelter then this is the good decision from you. You have to invest small payment in this. Before you purchase the dog, person in the animal shelter make dog germ-free by some method and hence you get healthy dog. Hey provide all the vaccination like rabies and 6 in 1 that are useful against the most fatal viruses such as parvo, the kennel cough etc. You have one free evaluating examination within the first five days of having the dog. If you find dog is not working properly or got sick for any reason then you have a 14 day exchange time where you can drop off the dog and get a new one which one you like. By adopting dog from the Dog shelter you are going to save a life. This is great pleasure for you. Answered by doglover11 2 years ago
