Is “Extra Care” involved in purchasing a long haired cat over a short one?
I love cats very much and collecting cats is my hobby. At present I have 4 cats all short haired. I am thinking about purchasing a long haired cat this time. Will I have to take some extra care for the long haired cat? In Cat care & grooming Asked by Daisy 2 Answers 334 Views 2 years ago Resolved |

Grooming a long haired cat is slightly difficult than the short haired ones. The long haired cats definitely require extra care as compared to the short ones. It is so because of their long hair, very often they get knotted. So it requires frequent brushing. So it is important to brush your cat very often. There are special combs available in the market purposely for the long haired cats. Also make sure that you trim the hair around their neck and chin. This would help them to drink water easily without moistening their fur. Answered by Crazycat 2 years ago

If you are thinkintake some extra care. Since the cat is having long hair, you would have to perform some additional tasks on the cat like brushing and detangling the hair of the cat at least once a week. It is very important to brush them regularly because if you don’t do it, then the cat’s hair gets knotted which in the due course of time can get worse like developing open sores. There was a friend of mine who didn’t brush his cat regularly which led to knotted clumps of fur all over the body. So make sure that you do the brushing of your cat minimum once a week.g about purchasing a long haired cat, then certainly you would have to Answered by Ellie 2 years ago
