Golden's are notorious for having allergies. As the weather changes the allergy becomes much more acute causing some dogs to scratch themselves into a skin infection. If the shots are not working (I assume steroids) there are daily allergy pills dogs can take. If the allergy is Atopic (airborn) allergy meds like the ones humans take often help. That being said DO NOT use human medicine but ask your vet for an equivalent. There are also topical creams of various types and medicated dog shampoos. If your vet has not recommended any of these things you may want to get a second opinion.
