Need help in installing the terrarium for the hamster?
I want to make a terrarium for my hamster. Please help me in making a beautiful habitat for him. The habitat should be close to its natural habitat so that he doesn’t have any problem there. What points should be taken in consideration and what materials are required for installing it? In Terrarium building Asked by Guest 4 Answers 388 Views 1 year ago Resolved |

Hamsters are the solitary animals. They want to be alone in most of the time. If you will put two or more hamsters in the same terrarium then there may be bloody fights. So, there must be a separate terrarium for every hamster or in one big terrarium you can make separate hiding house for each hamster. Answered by Rufus 1 year ago

To install a terrarium for the hamster the floor space should be of at least 40 cm x 60 cm and 40 cm in height. If you have a dwarf hamster then it should be of 80 cm x 50 cm because they are very energetic and want more space to run and to live. For material wood from conifers and plywood is not good. You can use beech or birch wood which makes a safe environment for him. Answered by Laker 1 year ago

First buy a 160 gallon fish tank. Then take either paper ball or wood chips and spread them all over the bottom of the terrarium where you would keep the sand. You can take 3 or 4 wheels, a few water dispensers, a ball and 2 food dishes. Make sure that you are using a lot of bedding. You can use fluff such as cotton as hamster love to play and make a bed of it. Answered by Aston66 1 year ago

Hamsters are mostly found in deserts of Asia and their natural substrate is sand, BUT please don’t take sand as oxygen can’t travel through the sand which is very suffocating for your hamster to live. You can take wood chips and many other commercial bedding as oxygen can travel through them. Answered by Bill34 1 year ago
