Hi Ernestine,
I am sorry for your troubles but it seem your dog is unhappy too. From your description she sounds angry to be left alone and you don't sound happy about taking care of her. All of these things dogs sense. I don't know about her health, but if she is waking you up between 3-5am it may be that you are walking her too early in the evening. As animals age (as with people) their bladders tend not to be able to hold urine as long as when they were younger. Try walking her just before you go to bed. As for getting rid of her, the sad news is that not many people will take in an aggressive 10 year old dog. You made the commitment to have her as part of your family and you should see that commitment through. She will not live forever but trying to make your lives as compatible as possible by understanding each other may help. Read about the changes in older dogs and how it affects their health. Don't try to isolate her as she obviously doesn't enjoy it (barking outside all night) and if you haven't done it in a while, a vet check would definitely be in order. She may have some medical problems that you are unaware of that are contributing to her behavior.
