Taking a stray cat into your home as a pet

I have taken in many stray cats -- as you are finding out, sometimes they make the decision to live with you and not the other way around! First thing you must do is take the cat to the vet and have it checked out -- this is very important! Then, when you have a clean bill of health and are certain the cat doesn't belong to anyone, love it and cherish it and make the commitment to care for it forever.
