In my mind the best think which is coming is use of used products. In your town you will find much other shop who sells the used product of horses. As per as trimming is concerned you can do that at your home as well. This will minus the cost of your riding horse.
Doing this is enough for reducing the charge which would be asked while purchasing the horse.

Using the secondly used equipments is good to reduce the charge but you should take that in use which is in perfect condition. If you will keep the horse under some special care then it may exceed the charge because of boarding, exercising and feeding.
If you are creative and you contact others to know about the medical cures then you may be deduct the cost.

First you should make the list of what are the things which is needed and what is waste less to use. If the list is in front then mark that items which can be purchased in new condition. Mark the product which can be used secondly that means the product which is used by anyone else previously. Instead of buying the tacks keep on cleaning it after every individual ride.
Instead of buying tough and hard buckets you can use simple one. If you will follow the path of this method then you could manage the cost for care and grooming the horse.

This is very intelligent question. By purchasing used materials like stuff, clippers and tacks etc. you can control the cost of the horse. You should also search for simple home remedial measures by which you can smartly cure your unhealthy horse. By doing this in health area as well you can stop wastage of money.
Horse cost about $4000 that is its initial price. And by taking tacks an all in consideration then it might go up to thousand plus and even above. So this is not cheap and if you can not pay for then you must not even think to buy.

Your friend is right. Well, he can cut the amount of horse expense by using second hand products this can cut the amount half and thus in low cost the product can be used for horse. Secondly, if you have large area then you can fence the area and keep the horse at your house. So this could decrease the boarding charges.
If you have decided that your house would be living place of your horse then you can fence by poly tape. It comes in low cost in compare to others and definitely it provides same facility.
