Indeed a splendid decision, of having cockatiels and love birds they are really sweet. Prior information about their health issues, feeding, and cages is necessary for efficient care and training as well since there are 2 years old and you might face behavioral problems. So far eating habits are concerned; it must be a balanced diet, which comprises of veggies, hard boiled or scrambled eggs for protein, cuttlebone for calcium and minerals while on the other side eatables like raw potatoes, onions, chocolate, caffeine, alcohol, and avocado should never be fed to birds.

Then you can have toys for them, so that remain happy and occupied. Preen toys, swings, shred-o-boxes, ladders, mirrors, lantern are what most birds like. And don’t forget to clip their wings when they out of the cage, otherwise they fly away. Make regular visit to bird specialist, at least twice a year. But this is not a hard and fast rule, immediately rush veterinarian if you find them behaving unusually as birds are very delicate and when they become ill, start sleeping too much, or stick to a place for hours, eat less, tail bobbing, wheezing, diarrhea, lethargy, constipation etc.

Toxic and smoke generating products such as Teflon, aerosol products, scented sticks and candles etc should be kept away from bird’s cage. Give them proper attention on daily basis and time to play and interact with you.
