The responsible breeder does the health screening tests to evaluate the genetic health defects that can be passed on the puppies. Other than that they also put a lot of effort in finding the perfect stud that will give the best puppies which means the artificial insemination may be easier than getting two dogs together. Technologies have given us capabilities so why don’t we use them to get the best dog breeds. Answered by Unclesam 2 years ago

These days’ people are thinking about the artificial insemination. In this we manually collect the dog’s sperm (count, motility, mobility). Machines like microscopes and sperm counters are also used to analyze the sperm. Other techniques and technologies evolve the sperm freezing. Using this we can use these on later date or it can be shipped overseas. After doing the surgery for the female dog the sperm is inseminated from dog. Other testing are also involve like Brucellosis (canine STD) and we can do the vaginal cultures and semen cultures that are being ruled before breeding. Answered by doglover11 2 years ago

There are many proper healths testing now available for dogs of all pure breeds. There is OFA & Penn Hip for hip classifications, also for elbow. Technologies involve treatments like Thyroid Testing for VwD, all kinds of blood screenings if it applies to your breed. Answered by Gizmo 2 years ago
