What should I place to decorate a red ear slider turtle terrarium?
I have a red ear slider turtle and I want to decorate its terrarium. I don’t know much about the decoration part. Can any one help me in suggesting me what and where should I place inside it so that it looks nice and my turtle will also like it? Many turtles like high temperature than the room temperature. So, you can use under water heater to make the terrarium’s temperature high. If the turtle is very active then you should place the heater against the wall. Good luck! Answered by Akara22 2 months ago Report Abuse

You should provide the land area for the basking and make sure that there is plenty of land mass over the water surface. You can use a thick piece of wood, bricks, a large stone or commercially made objects of glass, acrylic or plastic. You should also make sure that the land area is firmly fixed so that it does not move around. For the terrarium decoration you should avoid gravel because he can eat it. You can make use of the big river rocks which he can not eat. You can also make use of the aquatic plastic fake plants. But don’t take many in numbers; you can take 4-5 of them. You can put one or two vase but it should be large so that your turtle does not get stuck in. You will require a big aquatic fish tank for the red ear slider. You can put a great filter, two clamp lamps, a heat bulb and a 5.0 UVB bulb. For the bulbs you can place them 8 inches or more above the basking area. But don’t put gravel in the tank. You can set up a box above a tank for the turtle so that he can relax in and he can get up in there without taking your help. Both the lamps should be placed over one area in the box.
