A good set up for the bearded dragon will need 450-500 bucks. If you have this then you should go for a breaded dragon. A terrarium should be of 40 gallon. Then there should be play sand which will cost 6 bucks. A mercury vapor light or florescent light for the UVB light. I will suggest mercury vapor as it gives more UV. It also provides heat. A basking light for heat and UVA. If you want to use a 100 watt mercury vapor then you should use a basking light of 75 watt. You can use two thermometers, a screen lid and food dish. In greens you can give mustard, romane lettuce, kale, red lettuce, collard and in vegetables you can give okra, parsnips, squash, carrots.

If you do not have much money then do not take a bearded dragon. All his requirements which he will need are quite expensive. But once you buy everything then after that you have to pay only for his food.
You will require a 25 gallon tank. 4-5 bags of the reptile sand. A special bulb for the reptiles. Then good food to eat.

A minimum size of the tank is 36 x 18 by 48 x 24 with a height of18 x 24. In substrate you can use butcher paper, ceramic tiles, paper towels, shelf liner or the reptile carpet. In food you should give greens and protein. If your dragon is an adult one then he will need more greens. In first week you can give calcium and in the next week you can feed him with multivitamins.

You can make use of the indoor flood lights, typical household bulbs or reptile bulbs for the UVA lighting which provides heat. Its rays are very essential for the good mental ands physical health.

First of all if you want to take care of bearded dragon in some bucks then leave it and take leopard geckos as it will be cheaper than the bearded dragon. The cost for the dragon and his set will be around few hundred dollars. He needs some special light requirements. The UV lights will have to be changed 1-2 times in a year. Then there is also something for him from which he can climb.
