Lot of information is providing here but I think dry food is good with lots of water and only one or two times in a day. It maintains the weight of cat and don’t allow to overweight. If you wish to provide wet food then you can provide it. But provide it in good amount because excess amount of wet food cause diarrhea. Answered by Crazycat 3 years ago

See, canned wet food is good for the cat to loose weight. Dry food contain excess amount of carbohydrate and it generally increase the weight of your cat. So you should avoid this. If you want to give dry food then provide which has less amount of calorie. You this is the best way to loose weight gradually. Answered by Mandy16 3 years ago

Cats are generally choosy about the food and first eat few bites and then start getting more lately. So you should try to give them dry food. I am also giving dry food to my cat. I have a Mainecoon, she is 25 lbs. I usually put ½ cup of food into their bowl. I give it in morning but they ate all that by afternoon. First check your cat that whether she is overweight or not then tries to make any decision regarding their food. Answered by CALIC007 3 years ago

Depending upon size, activity, sex and other factors, you should decide the amount of calories provided to cat. I think your cat need 25 calories per pound daily. It maintains the weight of your cat. If you want to reduce weight slowly then you should feed the correct amount of food according to her ideal weight about 250 calories per day. Answered by Ellie 3 years ago
