Mostly it depends on some factor like what type of cat they are, where they live and what are you feeding them. On the food bag you get the information when to change the category of food. Indoor domestic cat need to feed adult food at about six to seven months.

Kitten, senior or adult….. It is not the issue. This is a marketing strategy of a manufacturer to sell their food product for cat. They charge some more in the adult food then the kitten food. But when you look and compare the percentages of composition of both then you will find there is a very slight difference between them of about 1%. All the ingredients are same but the percentage of having is increased. Adult cat food contains 1% more protein food than the kitten food. It is definitely needed high protein to growing cat.

So don’t mess up with these but the important thing is to see what you are feeding to your cat. Is it nutritional or not? Try to give nutrients enriched food to your cat. Avoid excess dry food and give meat or beef to your cat. Give same food but in high quantity. Feed them twice or thrice a day. They need more because they are burning fast even if they are not doing anything but they are growing.

Kitten needs only Mother Nature food not the ‘kitten food’. When you are feeding your cat then notice that try to give wet food not the dry food always. Cat belong to the wild desert cats and they are not the thirst thrive. They get most of the water from their food. They need plenty of water to avoid further health issue. Add some water in your food to any kitten or adult cat. Give canned food to your cat of different brands at a regular interval of time.

When you are switching to the new food then remember that switch food slowly over a period of 10 to 14 days. This means start switching food by mixing 75% old and 25% new then after in the ration of 50-50, after that add 25% old and 75% new and lastly switch it totally 100%.
