You should stay away from the flowering plants. You should never use tomatoes for the tortoise because the leaves are very poisonous. If you want to use those plants which your tortoise would not eat then you should always use fake plants because they can never be eaten by any one. They just look like the real plants. If you want to give a desert look then you can also use cactus.

Grasses and many home plants which are non flowering are also fine. For more you can go to the pet store.

You can use cactus which I think no body would like to eat it. The tortoise tongues are like the leather so it is also safe to use. The Hermann’s needs as much space as he can obtain, so be careful in putting the plants as they don’t take up too much space of the tank. So, your tank should be big as tortoise likes big places to live. If you want to use some other plants then you can search on web.
