Why are my 2 dogs marking my house?
I have 2 dogs, a Jack Russell (7 yrs) and a Huskie (4 yrs). REcently the Jack Russell and possibly the Huskie have started marking inside my house. We've had each of them since they were 8 weeks old, so neither is a new dog. We've been in our house for 1 yr 8 months so that's not new. It sounds as if something in your home or lives has changed. It may be anything from a change in your work schedule to the type of carpet cleaner you are using. Firstly, are the dogs spayed/neutered? This can be a real problem if not. As dogs get older, if they are not de-sexed they can start having problems which can lead to problems like you are having. Although they may not both be ill, if one starts marking the other will often follow. If they are both de-sexed then I would check the Jack Russel at the vet for a urinary tract infection.
