Hi Misseslink,

It can be many things but one possibility is an umbilical hernia. This is a small tear on the inside of the abdomen wall where the umbilical cord was attached. Intestines squeeze through the tear causing the lump. Since this is a new kitten I suggest taking her to the vet immediately to have the lump examined and to get he first shots. Good luck, new kittens are wonderful!
