Well it is hard to say but take him to the vet very very soon. A cat can become "blocked" which mean no urine can pass and in turn he can and will become very sick and eventually die actually quite quickly if left untreated. Another reason is it is not clean enough for him, clean the boxes out daily you should really have 3 boxes, a good rule of thumb is to have a box per cat plus one, place the boxes in a quiet place like a bathroom or laundry room away from a lot of human traffic, the cat could be stressed, how long have you had them?? I would call the vet asap don't waste any time, this type of thing can happen in adult males especally, something to remember when they grow up. If you see blood anywhere get him to the vet immediatley!! Good luck
