Why would my cat wheeze when she breathes?
I've had my cat for almost two years now and she wheezes while she's breathing, it doesn't worsen after she's physically active usually she's just sitting around when it happens. The vet says it's nothing but this just doesn't seem right. Should I take her to another vet? In Cat health problems Asked by cgonzales15 1 Answer 2731 Views 1 year ago Resolved |

Hi. I would definately take her to another vet to be checked for asthma or poss heart problem. It sounds like asthma though, and my cat is actually doing the same thing recently. She is a little "fluffy" lol, and I honestly thought she was snoring (due to her excess fluffiness) for awhile, but she does it while awake also, so to the vet she will go tomorrow. It almost sounds like she needs to cough sometimes, but others it's just weird sounds while she's sitting or sleeping. She also lays her chest close to the floor, although we haven't seen her wheezing in that position. I already knew she had allergies at certain times of the year also because she sneezes and will have clear discharge from one of her eyes occasionally. I feel terrible that I didn't catch it sooner since I'm a nurse, but at least she's going to the vet now. Let me know if you do get a second opinion and what they say. Hope she's okay!!
